In a small part of Prague, you will have the opportunity to find out who Františka Plamínková was, what Eliška Krásnohorská liked, and to whom we owe the fact that women could study and live their own lives without depending on men. If you find the right answers on your way to these important places, you will be rewarded at the end of the journey. The game is definitely not just for girls. Boys know all too well that equality is needed, and it doesn’t hurt to learn from history. After all, there are still battles to be fought, and together we can better fight inequality.
SEARCH GAME FOR SCHOOLS
Would you like to learn more about the history of women’s education, the fight for women’s rights and what it was like to be a woman at the beginning of the 20th century? Embark on a quest that will take you to places linked to this history.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
PLACE, DURATION, TIME
The search game will take place in Prague 2, near the Jiřina Šiklová Library and Charles Square. It is an outdoor game. The route is about 1.6 km long. The estimated duration of the game is 2 hours. However, it depends on the speed of the participants.
RULES
The game consists of brief information about each of the places visited and their significance in the history of Czech women’s emancipation, clues to the next journey and questions to be answered to help decipher the final password.

The game starts in the Jiřina Šiklová Library, where the class is given several worksheets to form several small groups. There will always be a person in the library who will answer practical questions about the game and give the class some basic information about the Jiřina Šiklová Library. This is the beginning of the game. It ends at the CAMP (Centre for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning), where the guardian will reward the children for correctly solving the riddle. There are six outdoor stops between the library and CAMP, so it is advisable to bring clothes suitable for the weather.

The worksheets are supplemented by audio recordings of the individual stops, which provide additional information beyond the worksheets. They are particularly useful for answering questions correctly. They can also be used to fill in missing descriptions on the timeline in the worksheets. You can download the recordings on this page as mp3s or use the links on Spotify. It is important that children have the opportunity to play these recordings at the appropriate points during the game. If this is not possible, the information from the teacher’s worksheet can be read aloud to the class.
FOR TEACHERS
For pedagogical support, there is also a teacher’s worksheet containing a map of the route, the exact addresses of each stop, information from the children’s worksheets, information heard in the audio recordings, the correct answers to the questions, the solution to the puzzle and the timeline.
PEDAGOGICAL SUPERVISION
It is recommended that sufficient teacher supervision is provided so that the class can be divided into a number of smaller groups and these groups can work independently of each other. The game passes through areas of increased traffic, so we do not recommend that children walk completely alone.
